Wire Bond Process Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs the set-up, programming, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and documentation for the wire bonding process equipment
  • Contributes skills and hands on experience to reduce machine down-time
  • Provides technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel in documenting new processes and equipment modifications
  • Provides work leadership and training to production personnel
  • Performs wire bond optimizations and characterizations of existing and new products to create and maintain high yielding wire bond processes
  • Reviews low yielding wire bonding lots to determine root cause and generate corrective actions for review by supervisor
  • Ensures there is an MSDS for all chemicals and chemical samples acquired and turned into the safety coordinator
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Job may occasionally require overtime.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Must have hands on working knowledge of all aspects of Gold Ball Thermal Sonic Wire Bonding used in advanced packaging. Wire bonding technician experience with line support required
  • Experience with Automatic Palomar Ball Bonder, ASM Ball and Wedge Bonders, K&S Ball and Wedge Bonders and/or Hesse Wedge Bonders is plus
  • Ability to perform wire bonding Design of Experiments (DOE) desired
  • Experience with optical measuring tools, Wire Pull and Ball Shear Testers
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and other Office applications
  • Good hand eye coordination /dexterity
  • Vision requirements include close vision (using microscope), color vision (identifying resistor values), depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Education:

  • Typically requires a 2 years electrical engineering degree and 3 years related experience
Microelectronic Assembly Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • Setup and perform assembly operations for microelectronic devices/modules containing active and passive components, ceramic/organic substrates, connectors, etc
  • Setup and operate assembly equipment for epoxy dispensing, die placement, wire bonding, plasma cleaning, epoxy curing, pull/shear testing, dimensional inspection, etc
  • Execute Design of Experiments (DOEs) to develop new assembly processes or improve existing ones
  • Provide input to program teams on the producibility of new designs
  • Help develop assembly instructions and method sheets
  • Help define assembly tooling/fixturing requirements and support the design of such
  • Help research and procure special tooling/equipment for use in assembly operations
  • Provide regular progress reports to department head and program teams

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Experience in microelectronic assembly operations (SMTs) is preferred
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience in epoxy dispense, die attach, wire bonding, thermo-compression bonding and soldering operations including setup, operation and troubleshooting of the associated equipment
  • Comfortable working with incomplete information and exploring new, unconventional microelectronic packaging processes and technologies
  • Demonstrated experience in executing DOEs with utmost attention to detail and accurate recording of data
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a clean room environment with the aid of microscopes for extended periods of time
  • Good diagnostic skills in troubleshooting process and equipment problems
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction in a diverse group of professionals
  • Proficient in using standard office software tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; preferably from a technical/trade school
  • Two Year Technical Degree preferred
Microelectronic Assembly Operator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform hand assembly operations of microelectronic devices.
  • Operate assembly equipment for epoxy dispensing, die placement, wire bonding, plasma cleaning, epoxy curing, pull/shear testing, dimensional inspection, etc
  • Provide regular progress reports to department head and program teams

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a clean room environment with the aid of microscopes for extended periods of time
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills that enable effective interaction in a diverse group of professionals
  • Basic experience in using standard office software tools including MS Word, Excel, etc
  • Experience in microelectronic assembly operations (SMTs) is preferred but we will train

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
